We have exciting news – Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta (LVA) and Literacy Volunteers Waterville Area have merged! We are currently doing business as
LVA, but are working on a name change to let everyone know we are covering all of Kennebec County. More to come as grow – stay tuned.

The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta – LVA is to improve the reading, writing and related literacy skills of adults so each individual may reach their potential.

Our Process

Evaluate
Learners meet one -on-one with our executive director to discuss personal goals and to identify areas for development.

Pair-Up
Every learner is paired with a volunteer tutor who offers one-to-one, learner-centered instruction that is free, private and confidential.

Celebrate
Learners become proud, confident, and ready to take the next steps in their career and personal lives.
