LITERACY VOLUNTEERS OF GREATER AUGUSTA & AUGUSTA LITERACY FOR ME TEAM invites you to:
Celebrate reading and nature through a Story Walk. As you enjoy the Gardiner River Festival, join LVA at the south end trail of the riverfront for a StoryWalk. This year we are featuring Do Fairies Bring the Spring? by Maine Author, Liza Gardner Walsh and illustrated by Hazel Mitchell – Meet them both!
SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2017 – 10AM-3PM
Sponsored by: Summit Natural Gas of Maine 2016 photo
Boost your children’s skill in reading and language as you read and walk along the Gardiner waterfront nature trail and hunt for sights that you read about in the pages of the book. Each child will receive a checklist of things to find. When they return the checklist to the sign-in table they will receive a special prize.
At the end of the trail there will be a Fairy Village and families can join in the fun of building their own unique Fairy House.
As a Special Treat, Darlings’ Ice Cream Truck will be on-site from 11:30am-1:30pm. Free ice cream – donations may be made to support Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta.
Thanks to J.S. McCarthy Printer’s for printing and the Story Boards!
Thanks to Gardiner MainStreet for organizing this wonderful day on the river.
